Is an online will suitable?
More people are comfortable using the internet to carry out important tasks these days. If you are happy making your will online please continue reading. If you don't want to make your will online then please don't feel you have to. Your peace of mind is our priority.
If you are comfortable and confident online please consider the following factors. Each of these taken on their own or in combination should inform your decision.
1. Mental Capacity. You may have any concerns around your mental capacity or someone close to you may have real or imagined concerns. Read more about mental capacity.
2. High value or complex estate/ challenge. If you have a will that exceeds the inheritance tax threshold you should consider tax planning issues. If you are in an unmarried couple this becomes more important. Other things to consider are whether you hold agricultural or business property, trust income, property or assets overseas or if you have any dependants.
3. Your peace of mind. We ask you a number of questions. You can go through these before choosing whether or not to complete your purchase. If there is anything that you're not sure about or that you don't think "fits" please give us a call. Our system caters for the vast majority but if it's not for you then you can make the best choice for your peace of mind.
Making a will is a deeply personal thing to do. Make a Will Online's advice is that if you would rather speak with a traditional solicitor then you should do.
